With its exemplary performance in the implementation of the government's programs and projects, Brgy. Ditumabo San Luis, Aurora led by Punong Barangay Sherwin V. Macatiag was chosen as the 2019 Second Semester Barangay Assembly "Showcase Barangay" in the province of Aurora.


With the theme "Barangay Muna: Nagkakaisang Barangay, Kaagapay ng Bansang Maunlad," the barangay assembly conducted on October 20, 2019 was attended by DILG Aurora Cluster Team Leader Ariel G. Espinosa, San Luis MLGOO Melody E. Valdez and ADA IV Gerald Philip Esteves.
LGOO VII Espinosa applauded Barangay Ditumabo for exemplifying good governance as well as its effective delivery of services to the constituents of the barangay.
During his message, Espinosa said that the barangay assembly serves as an avenue where the constituents can raise their pressing needs and concerns in relation to community development. "Ang Barangay Assembly ay isang pamamaraan kung saan nakikita ang ugnayan ng barangay at ng mga mamamayan, partikular sa paglalatag ng mga layuning pangkaunlaran, gayundin ng mga programa at proyekto na naisasagawa sa barangay. Ito rin ang pamamaraan kung saan ang mga residente ay magtatanong ng mga isyuna may kinalaman sa pagpapatupad ng lokal na pamamahala kaya lagi po nating ugaliing makiaalam at makilahok sa pagpapaunlad ng ating komunidad". He also commended the cleanliness of the barangay which reflects the residents' high regard to discipline and cooperation
"Huwag nating ipagwalang bahala ang mga ganitong uri ng patawag ng barangay. Samantalahin ang pagkakataon na makibahagi upang mapalakas ang partisipasyon ng mga mamamayan sa lokal na pamamahala.", Espinosa said.
Hon. Lorna Cruz, Sangguniang Bayan of San Luis, being the official representative of Mayor Ariel A. De Jesus graced the Barangay Assembly and shared the latter's accomplishments in the municipality which focused on Peace and Order, Disaster Preparedness, Environmental Protection, Health, Public Works and many others. "Mahalaga ang Barangay Assembly hindi lamang dahil sa ito ay mandatong Local Government Code ng 1991 ngunit higit upang malaman natin kung saan nailalaan ang mga pondo ng ating barangay. Dito rin natin napag-uusapan kung paano mabibigyan ng aksyon ang mga suliraning kinahaharap ng ating pamayanan. Sapagkat ang lahat ng mga opisyal ng barangay at mga mamamayan ay nandirito, magkatuwang na mailalatag at maisusulong ang mga programa at proyekto na makatutugon sa pangangailangan ng buong pamayanan", she stressed.

In his State of Barangay Address (SOBA), PB Macatiag reported the accomplishments of his barangay. He commended the concerted effort and cooperation of their constituents and call for their continuing support as the barangay also continues to implement the priority programs, projects and activities for CY 2019.
He also proposed the plans and programs for the barangay's next fiscal years. The financial statement of the barangay was also included in the report.
Meanwhile, LGOO VI Melody E. Valdez, MLGOO of San Luis delivered the message of SILG Eduardo M. Año which put emphasis on strengthening partnership between barangay officials and their constituents for the promotion of local progress; intensifying campaign against illegal drugs by capacitating the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC); intensifying the implementation of Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management; intensifying campaign against terrorism and insurgency; and encouraging the barangay to work together in promoting good local governance towards achieving peace and development in the community. She also urged the barangay folks to work together in successfully achieving peace and development.
Also present to grace the assembly is LNB President Ruel Uy.
