Pampanga Sangguniang Kabataan officials undergo a three-day intensive training program to enhance leadership skills for the promotion of youth as frontrunners in the maintenance of peace and order on May 24-26, 2019.


Initiated by the Pampanga Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) headed by Governor Lilia Pineda jointly handled by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 48th Infantry Battalion and 703rd Brigade, youth leader representatives convene for the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) in the City of San Fernando to upscale their management and capacity to lead their respective communities in the prevention of the involvement of youth in terrorism and illegal drugs.
Brigadier General Rowen Tolentino, Commander of 703rd Brigade, shared to participants the vitality of active youth participation in the maintenance of peace and order by being transformational leaders in their own way through aggressively engaging their fellow youth in their locality to support national government thrusts and programs on terrorism, insurgency, crimes and illegal drugs.
Cluster Team Leader Engr. Jose Algy Canlas as representative of DILG Pampanga Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia expressed the Department's gratitude to the provincial government for supporting the activity. He as well committed that the DILG will fully support the PNP and AFP on the continuous campaign against insurgency, crimes, and terrorism.
More than 100 representatives from the ranks of SK officials from all cities and municipalities in the province were equipped with leadership skills on extreme emotions management, first aid training, basic life support, rebel group infiltration, among others.
On the same day, SK officials elected amongst themselves a set of YLS Officers who will take charge charge of all the forthcoming events of Youth Leadership Summit in Pampanga.
