At the sound of the alarm, all DILG Pampanga Provincial Office personnel took a time off to duck, cover, and hold as the country observed the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on February 21, 2019.

When the alarm went off, all personnel went out in an open space and conducted a head count to ensure that all are present and safe. A briefing was also made to relay the importance of being disaster prepared and ready.
Following RA 10121 which highlights the importance of disaster preparedness, all local government units (LGUs) are mandated to mainstream disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation through policies, plans and system which include simulation of scenario-based preparedness and response plans, such as this Earthquake drill.
The DILG, as the Vice Chairperson on Disaster Preparedness, ensures that all local governments do their part in empowering their communities when it comes to disaster management by having a proactive stance in mitigating and managing the effects of disasters.
