Tagaytay City - President Rodrigo RoaDuterte has emphasized his administration drive in creating reforms to streamline business processes in the country. In support to the pronouncement, the Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018 was passed which is expected to address bottlenecks in business registration and processing and improve the country's global competitiveness ranking.

With a concrete law, the challenge of conveying its provisions to the local government units (LGUs) and Filipino citizens is of the essence. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through the Bureau of Local Government (BLGD), in partnership with the DILG-Public Affairs and Communication Services (PACS) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), took the bold initiative to tackle this challenge.

The activity titled "Laymanizing the EODB Act: Developing Statregic EODB Act Communication Plan" was conducted last March 18-22, 2019 at Days Hotel, Tagaytay City. The said activity aimed to formulate a communication plan to raise awareness among the key players (LGUs, Business Sectors and General Public) about the said law's long term-benefits. It is participated in by Luzon Cluster's EODB focal person and Information officers.
The resource persons prepared several workshops to gather data and information from the participants for the creation of the communication plan. At the latter part of the activity, one of the Resourse speaker presented the draft communication plan for critiquing.
