TARLAC PROVINCE – As a customary, Local Government Units (LGUs) in Central Luzon which excel in streamlining and institutionalization of BPLS reforms are being recognized by the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Inc. (CLGCFI) and 2018 marks the 12th year since its inception on giving due credit to such deserving LGUs. This project is also in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), all of Region 3.

The Province of Tarlac thus took pride to host the 12th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon LGUs Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor's Permit held on June 29 at the Bulwagang Kanlahi (Formerly Diwa ng Tarlac Convention Center).
The program started in the afternoon with an Opening Message from our very own, Tarlac Provincial Governor Susan A. Yap who also happens to be the current CLGCFI President. Governor Yap warmly welcomed everyone and expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the LGUs who continuously manifest exemplary performance to promote the ease of doing business towards an improved business climate.
This was immediately followed by the announcement of Central Luzon LGUs who bested in the Top 10 of the 2017 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI). The awarding process was explained by Mr. Renato G. Romero, Co-Chair of RDC-3 Special Committee on Competitiveness.
DILG Regional Office 3 Director Julie J. Daquioag, Ph.D., CESO IV represented by DILG Tarlac Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESE in the presentation of criteria, categories and evaluation process for the selection of CLGCFI awardees.
The following are the Regional Winners in the Four (4) Components of Streamlining BPLS, to wit:
Component 1: Most Outstanding LGU Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor's Permit
1st Place - Talavera, Nueva Ecija
2nd Place – Sta. Maria, Bulacan
3rd Place – Guiguinto, Bulacan
Component 2: Most Outstanding LGU for I.T. Innovations
1st Place - Sta. Maria, Bulacan
2nd Place – Talavera, Nueva Ecija
3rd Place – San Simon, Pampanga
Component 3: Best LGU in Customer Relations
1st Place - Talavera, Nueva Ecija
2nd Place – Sta. Maria, Bulacan
3rd Place – San Luis, Aurora
Component 4: Most Successful LGU in the Institutionalization of BPLS Reforms – City of San Fernando, Pampanga
Provincial winners and finalists for each category were also recognized and plaques were given to CMCI winners.
Other notable personalities present during the event were Tarlac Vice Governor Carlito S. David, DTI Region 3 Director Judith P. Angeles and some of the City and Municipal Mayors in Central Luzon.
