A Seminar-Workshop on the Monitoring and Evaluation of Vertical Structures was conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III, thru the Project Development and Management Section (PDMS) on June 21-22, 2018 at Maharajah Hotel, Angeles City.

The said activity was participated in by DILG Provincial Community Development Officers, Regional Program Officers, and Provincial Engineers. Most of the topics discussed by the speakers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 3 were relevant to the construction of evacuation centers. The significance, classifications, design principles, and electrical designs were highlighted and participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and clarifications after every presentation.

Further, the activity successfully served as an avenue to enhance the participants' knowledge and skills on the preparation of Scope of Works, Bills of Quantities, and Program of Works for Evacuation Centers. Common defects, remedies, and necessary procedures needed for the maintenance of such structures were also elaborated by the end of the activity to guide the participants in their monitoring and evaluation during site visits.
