In support to the President's flagship program against illegal drugs, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the joint effort of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) have gathered more than 4,000 surrenderees from all the cities and municipalities in the province for a Symposium on Illegal Drugs entitled "Kampanya para sa Pagsugpo sa Ipinagbabawal na Gamot" held at the Bulacan Capitol Gym, City of Malolos, Bulacan on 29th day of March 2017. Other attendees to witness the activity were Chief of Police Officers and Punong Barangays in different LGUs of Bulacan, Philippine Army, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and members of the media.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado in his message to the drug surrenderees, stressed that the Province needs them to attain a more progressive Bulacan. Likewise, Vice-Governor Daniel Fernando encouraged everyone to be active in the community and focus on activities that interest them like sports activities.

On the campaign against illegal drugs, PSSupt. Romeo D. Caramat, Acting Provincial Director of Philippine National Police (PNP) Bulacan, briefed the attendees on how the PNP conducts Oplan Tokhang. Likewise he discussed the implementation of the Community Based Rehabilitation Program/ Bahay Pagbabago in every local government units. It is a solution to help the victims of drug abuse to rehabilitate and be productive members of the society. He also mentioned that out of 1,520 graduates of the Bahay Pagbabago, 420 are now currently employed. Other government agencies like DOH and TESDA were also present and provided short lectures for the benefit of the drug surrenderees. Also, faith-based organizations, represented by Pastor Cesar Sacdalan, were present to give inspirational message on how to overcome addiction.

Prior to the said symposium, contests on slogan and poster making were held where the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) was one of the judges. Winners who were awarded during the Symposium received trophies and following cash prizes: (First Place-Php 15,000.00; Second Place-Php 10,000.00; and Third Place- Php 5,000.00). Contenders for the poster making contest were students from the different colleges and university in the province while the slogan making contest was participated by the local government units in the province. Student from AMA Computer College won the first prize for the poster making contest while Municipality of San Rafael got the first prize for slogan making contest with an entry "Oh Bulakenyo Buhay ay Huwag Sayangin, sa Drogang Magtutulak sa'yo sa Masamang Gawain".
