DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Austere Panadero commended the people behind the crafting of One Central Luzon Contingency Plan for the "Big One" Earthquake that could strike anytime in Metro Manila and its nearby provinces. "Maraming salamat sa lahat ng ginagawa ninyo at mabuhay po ang PDRRMOs ng Region III at Region IV-A" said USEC Panadero.

DILG Region III facilitated the conduct of Consultative Meeting regarding the updates on Preparedness for the 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake graced by USEC Panadero, DILG R-III OIC-ARD Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, DILG NCR ARD Juan Jovian Ingeniero, OCD R-III RD Marlou Salazar and P/CDRRMOs of Region III and Region IV-A.

This inevitable "Big One" earthquake could possibly generate a magnitude 7.2 earthquake. The West Valley Fault system is an imaginary line marking the area where the different fault systems are located underground and are actively moving from where a big earthquake may originate. This disastrous earthquake is expected to seriously affect our country.

The PDRRMOs and CDRRMOs from Region III and Region IV-A presented their contingency plans with the goal of providing effective, efficient, timely and well-coordinated response mechanisms/operations in the event of the occurrence of disaster in their respective provinces and cities. They are set to establish proper coordination through efficient communication and linkage among City/Municipal DRRMCs, PDRRMC member-agencies, NGOs, volunteer groups and stakeholders.
