In a dynamic effort to promote peace and address the root causes of insurgencies in the communities, the Department of the Interior and Local Government of Bulacan, headed by Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, CESO V, facilitated the re-orientation and sectoral consultation under the Capacitating Urban Communities for Peace and Development (CUCPD) Program on September 27, 2023.

The activity was joined by the representatives from different sectors of Transportation, Labor, Women, Youth, Farmers, Urban Poor/Resettlement, Teacher, and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) from the Municipalities of Pandi and Marilao.


Moreover, the activity served as a platform to discuss the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-063 on the Enhanced Guidelines on the Implementation of CUCPD which provides a deeper understanding and guidance to the participants on the implementation of the program. With the active involvement of all government sectors, the program seeks to address the fundamental causes of insurgency and other communist conflicts. It is one of the significant milestones of the Department in empowering communities with the tools, resources and information in fostering social cohesion, sustainable development, and peace.
