Regional Director Florida Dijan of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 3 graced the graduation ceremony of Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Training of Class 2013-01 on August 14, 2013 at Angeles City Police Office.  This batch is composed of 54 graduates from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In her message, RD Dijan appreciated the efforts of the graduates as well as the training management for the timely conduct of the activity.  She mentioned that the country is in the midst of growing and alarming incidences of criminalities, bombings and robberies perpetrated by lawless element which threaten the lives and properties of innocent civilians and even uniformed personnel.

“Hindi lingid sa atin na sa kasalukuyan ay hindi na patago ang mga nangyayaring krimen sa ating bansa.  Madalas ngayon ay malapitan na ang pagkitil ng buhay lalo na ng mga ‘ riding in tandem’ na tinatawag.  Lubos na nakababahala ang mga ganitong pangyayari.  Kaya naman ang pagsasanay na ito ay sadyang napapanahon“, she said.

RD Dijan likewise highlighted the graduates’ roles and responsibilities as peacekeepers and preventers of crimes and illegal acts.  She emphasized that hard work, dedication and sincerity are important in order to successfully accomplish every mission entrusted to each one.

“Katulad ng sinabi ni DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, ‘Our mandate is to serve and protect our people’”, she said.  “This requires the willingness to sacrifice even our own welfare for the good of the public whom we oath to serve”, she added.

As part of the DILG Family, the director gave assurance of the Department’s support in all their endeavors which are all towards the attainment of peace and security in the country.

“Your unwavering passion to restore the integrity of this nation cannot happen overnight.  But gradually, as we all perform our duties and responsibilities as public servants, I am definite that no barrier will ever hinder us to make this dream come true.  Sabay-sabay nating iaangat ang isang malinis at maunlad na Pilipinas”, the RD concluded.
