DILG Bataan convened the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) provincial validation team at the DILG Bataan Provincial Office, City of Balanga on November 18, 2021 to conduct validation and assessment for the 12 pilot barangays of the province.

The provincial validation team, headed by PD Myra Moral-Soriano, carefully checked and validated the documents of the barangays submitted through the SGLGB Information System (SGLGB-IS).

The 12 pilot barangays of Bataan that were able to pass the "3+1" principle of SGLGB are Laon (Abucay), Parang (Bagac), Lote Puerto Rivas (Balanga City), Colo (Dinalupihan), Palihan (Hermosa), Alangan (Limay), San Carlos (Mariveles), Nagbalayong (Morong), Talimundoc (Orani), Camachile (Orion), Panilao (Pilar) and East Daan Bago (Samal).
The provincial results will be further reviewed by DILG R3 and the regional validation team.

The SGLGB applies the "3+1" principle where a barangay needs to pass all of the three (3) core areas: Peace and Oder, Financial Administration and Sustainability; and Disaster Preparedness; and at least one (1) of the three (3) essential areas: Social Protection and Sensitivity; Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; or Environmental Management.
The 2021 pilot testing of the SGLGB was implemented to verify the effectiveness of the parameters developed in assessing barangay governance and provide sound inputs in the implementation of a full-scale rollout.

The provincial validation team was composed of PD Soriano, representatives from the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Chapter, Program Manager/MES Chief Allan Don Malonzo and SGLGB focal person LGOO III Danilyn Pena.
