To prep up the local government units of Bataan for the upcoming Local Council on Anti-Trafficking-Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) functionality assessment, DILG Bataan headed by Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano, held a provincial orientation on June 8, 2021 via Zoom.

The orientation presented the CY 2019 and 2020 LCAT-VAWC assessment guidelines and the documents to be collected during the data-gathering phase. The documents are to be submitted at the DILG Bataan Provincial Office and will be assessed by the Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (IMT).

Participants of the orientation include PSWDO Marilyn Tigas, DILG Bataan Cluster Head Melissa Nipal, C/MLGOOs, Program Manager Allan Don Malonzo and the LSWDOs of the 12 component LGUs of the province.

LGOO III Danilyn Peña discussed the LCAT-VAWC assessment while LGOO II Joanna Marie likewise presented the 2021 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) using the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Knowledge Management System (SCFLG-KMS).

The LCAT-VAWC assessment serves as a basis for policy and capacity development to strengthen the capability of LGU in combating trafficking in persons (TIP) and eliminating violence against women and children.
