Barangay San Ramon of Dinalupihan is the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Bataan’s Provincial Showcase Barangay for the second semester of 2017.
Said event was held on March 25, 2017 at the Barangay Plaza of San Ramon with the theme "Sulong Barangay Kontra Droga, Krimen at Katiwalian" and "PHederalismo, sa Barangay Mismo".
During the assembly, Punong Barangay Wilfredo Diwa systematically delivered his State of the Barangay Address (SOBA) highlighting Brgy. San Ramon’s accomplishments in the areas of infrastructure, peace and order, waste management, health and sanitation, education, culture and sports, senior citizens and the proposed projects of the barangay for the year 2017.
DILG Bataan Monitoring and Evaluation Section (MES) Chief and Barangay Assembly Focal Cherryl Beltran, in her message, expressed her appreciation and lauded the local and barangay officials of San Ramon for adhering to the department’s mandates and in performing their respective duties and responsibilities making their barangay eligible to be showcased in the Province of Bataan.
Ms. Jasmin Bartolo, MLGOO of Dinalupihan, likewise recognized and congratulated Barangay San Ramon as a model barangay of Dinalupihan, as it successfully conducted the said assembly wherein the State of the Barangay and the Financial Report was comprehensively discussed by the Sangguniang Barangay of San Ramon.
Gracing the provincial showcase were Mayor Ma. Angela “Gila” Garcia, VM Renato Matawaran, Sangguniang Bayan Members of the municipality, LGOOs II Allan Don Malonzo and Darryl Salvador from the DILG Bataan Provincial Office, PNP and BFP, local officials and other assembly members.
Mayor Garcia congratulated PB Diwa and his council for pulling off and organizing the showcase barangay assembly. She also lauded Barangay San Ramon for being one of the most financially-organized and capable barangays in Dinalupihan.
She stressed the importance of working together to accomplish a common goal and to eventually achieve the vision of Dinalupihan which is to be a model agropolis in Central Luzon by 2020.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 260 dated September 30, 2011, all barangays in the country are required to call for a barangay assembly at least twice every year and deliver their state of the barangay address to their respective constituents concerning matters provided by Section 397(b) Chapter VI of the Local Government Code: Accomplishments and Financial Report from the past six months and updates on on-going programs and projects.
