BALANGA CITY, Bataan — As the 2025 national and local elections draw near, the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) convened for a joint second quarter meeting on April 10, 2025, at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion.
The meeting served as a platform to assess the province’s peace and order situation, review internal security strategies, and reinforce anti-drug initiatives through a collaborative, whole-of-government approach.
Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Chris Ian Silva provided key updates on the province's election preparedness, emphasizing the need for safe, orderly, and credible elections.
OIC Provincial Director PCOL Marites Salvadora of the Bataan Provincial Police Office presented accomplishments for the first quarter of 2025 and shared ongoing preparations for the upcoming elections. Likewise, LTC Sonny Dungca of the Philippine Army highlighted continued efforts to enhance territorial defense in coordination with other security forces to safeguard national sovereignty.
Agent in Charge Nathaniel Ramos of the NBI Bataan presented the agency's first-quarter accomplishments, highlighting its support in law enforcement, intelligence gathering, and peace and security investigations.
Atty. Kristofferson Diwas of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) discussed mechanisms to bolster police accountability through improved oversight and evaluation processes.
On the anti-drug front, PDEA Agent Dheo Aurio A. Tabor stressed the importance of sustained and deeper inter-agency coordination in strengthening drug-clearing operations. Dr. Elizabeth Serrano of the Department of Health-Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH-TRC)-Bataan also provided an overview of the province’s drug rehabilitation program, noting key achievements and areas needing further support.
The joint meeting gathered representatives from provincial government offices, law enforcement agencies, national government agencies, and civil society organizations — all united in reaffirming Bataan’s commitment to a peaceful, safe, and drug-free province through inclusive and responsive governance.
