The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) will soon bind partnership with the Mariveles Municipal Government for the implementation of the proposed Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) projects in Barangays Malaya and Maligaya.

During the orientation held at AFAB Administration Building in Mariveles on February 9, 2023, the DILG Bataan Locally-Funded Projects (LFP) Unit represented by LGOO II Mark Angelo Pumares and ENGR II Jamesnick Seramines discussed the background of SBDP, minimum standard for the proposed projects and documentary requirement.

The said proposals are two solar street lighting projects in various locations within the jurisdiction of AFAB, costing Php6,606,882.17 per project. The barangay officials believe that the provision of renewable energy-based electrification will ensure additional security and orderliness in the areas especially during nighttime.

The activity was attended by Mr. Alewijn Aidan Ong (AFAB Deputy Admin for Operations), Engr. Hazel De Guzman (AFAB Facilities Department Manager), MLGOO Haidee Balicolon, Mariveles Engineering Office led by Engr. Ildefonso Tarriela, officials from the beneficiary barangays, and other concerned personnel.
