DILG Bataan, in partnership with the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), concluded its series of training and workshops on Local Economic Development for LGUs (LED4LGUs) for the 3rd to 4th class municipalities of the province on June 17, 2022 via Zoom.

Local economic development teams of Abucay, Bagac, Morong, Pilar and Samal completed the three LED4LGUs modules developed by the Local Government Academy and BPSU.

The LED4LGUs Program is the Department's initiative in helping bolster sustainable Local Economic Development (LED) and emphasizes the enabling role of LGUs in promoting economic growth and employment generation.

The municipalities of Samal and Pilar were also conferred with the 'Stand Out LGU' Award for showing exceptional quality traits during the conduct of the program that ran from May 20 to June 17, 2022.

In her message, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman expressed her gratitude to the LGU participants for their contributions in realizing the collective goals of ensuring their local governments are on the right track for local economic process and become self-sufficient LGUs.

Certificates of Appreciation were also given to Yves Consunji, Leslie Jorge-Acain and Adona Dela Rosa of BPSU for being hospitable partners in the implementation of the program and supporting the LGUs transform into Local Economic Development champions.
