The province of Bataan as its component city, two municipalities, and one barangay obtained a total of nine (9) major awards in the recently-held 2021 Regional Manila BAYani Awardees at Kingsborough Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on March 23, 2022.

The ceremony was attended by PD Myra Moral-Soriano, CLGOO Jomar Cruz, MLGOO Cristy Blanco, MLGOO Ma. Jasmin Bartolo, ADAS II Russel Jasper Rabacio and LGU functionaries of the said LGUs.
The City of Balanga is also acknowledged for being a consistent top performer for six consecutive years through the collaborative efforts of the city government, CENRO, barangay officials, and the Balanguenos.
The Manila BAYani Awards and Incentives (MBAI) aims to recognize LGUs that have shown exemplary performance on the implementation of their mandates and responsibilities under environmental laws and policies that support the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
