San Luis, Aurora – Barangay Zarah successfully held its Barangay Assembly Day on October 18, 2025, to discuss community achievements, review finances, and plan for future development.
The importance of the assembly was highlighted by a message from DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla delivered by MLGOO Jesus L. Vizconde Jr. stating, “Makabuluhan ang barangay assembly sapagkat nagsisilbi po itong plataporma upang mapag-usapan nang mabuti ang mga accomplishment, plano, o mga isyu ng ating mga barangay.
MLGOO Vizconde offered high praise for Barangay Zarah's collaborative spirit and success, particularly its notable cleanliness.
Punong Barangay Lorna Bihasa-Cruz delivered the State of Barangay Address (SOBA), which provided a comprehensive look at the barangay's status including accomplishment and financial report for the 1st Semester, updates on ongoing plans, programs, and projects, newly-enacted ordinances and resolutions, and a discussion of emerging issues and concerns.
She attributed the barangay's progress to the collective effort of the community, emphasizing that success is a shared responsibility. She acknowledged both supporters and critics in her concluding remarks.
An open forum was facilitated by the barangay officials where residents from different age groups raised their concerns and asked questions to officials and relevant agencies present.
The assembly saw strong attendance and listened to meaningful insights from government representatives and local agencies including Municipal Administrator Mariane Faithful D. Tubera, DILG Cluster Team Leader Ariel G. Espinosa, San Luis Municipal Police Station, Provincial Highway Patrol, Provincial Health Unit, and various municipal offices like Sanitation, Ecological Waste, DRRM.
