The groundbreaking ceremony for the Construction of Roads, Yakal II, Narra, and Mulawin, in Brgy. Paltic, Dingalan was held on February 7, 2024. This farm-to-market road is funded under the F.Y. 2023 Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to LGUs and aims to provide greater accessibility to farmers and residents.
During the ceremony, Punong Barangay Carlos Cajucom explained the need for this project by sharing their difficulties in the past: “Ito po ay lubak-lubak at maputik at talagang idinadaing ng mga sumasama sa prosisyon sapagkat ang panahon ng fiesta po natin dito ay tag-ulan. Subalit ngayon po ay maisasakatuparan na aming pangarap. Ito ay magandang pagbabago po ng bayan ng Dingalan at barangay Paltic, sa tuloy-tuloy na progreso at pagbabago ng bayan ng Dingalan.”
Mayor Shierwin H. Taay expressed the importance of dialogue between the local community, the LGU, and the collaboration of different national agencies so that projects like these can successfully be implemented and aid in their development. He also shared the processes that took place to make projects like these come to fruition. Mayor Taay also shared the specifics of the project so that beneficiaries would be proactive participants in the successful construction of the road and informed the audience of other infrastructure projects in their locality.
Finally, PM Mary Joyce T. Bautista shared a special message to the project’s stakeholders during the event, emphasizing that the road is designed and will be constructed according to the specific needs of the community. In the spirit of participatory infrastructure governance, she says, “Kailangan pagtulungan natin ito. Ang opisina po namin ay nandiyan, nakaantabay kung ano ang kailangan ninyo para po makamit ninyo at maisakatuparan ang inyong mga plano at mga proyekto.”
