   The DILG Regional Office 3 aims to recognize the call for change and celebrate acts of courage and determination by women who played extraordinary roles in our lives. The celebration of the International Women’s Day to honour the women was held on March 8, 2013 at the DILG Conference Room, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. It was attended by all DILG Regional Office 3 Personnel and was hosted by Atty. Myron C. Cunanan and ADA IV Joselito V. Lustre.

   The celebration commenced with a Prayer for Women followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

   RD Florida M. Dijan welcomed and thanked the Resource Speaker from DOH to be a part of the Women’s Day Celebration of DILG Regional Office. She emphasized that the Lecture on Women Health is beneficial not only for the women but as for men. Also, she apprised everyone that our country is leading in gender related activities; something that Filipinos should be proud of. Lastly, she inspired all the male personnel to celebrate the day with their wives or loved ones and reminded the women that Women’s Day is a celebration to avow the importance of women in our lives but not a right to overrule the men.

   Dr. Maila S. Rostrata, MD, DPCOM, Medical Specialist 2 from the Department of Health Regional Office 3 talked on the “Illnessess Commonly Suffered by Women and their Prevention. She discussed the six (6) leading diseases of women in the Philippines:  signs and symptoms, causes, treatment, prevention, diagnosis, early signs and prognosis. Cancer (breast, cervical, ovarian) as the topmost followed by Arthritis, Vertigo, Nerve Disease, Cystitis and Candidal Infection.

   A powerpoint presentation especially designed for the DILG Regional Office 3 Female Personnel was displayed, accompanied with a song number entitled, “LADY”  rendered by ADA III Jacquelino B. Viovicente.

   Lecture on Fire Safety Tips in recognition of the Fire Prevention Month was also discussed by Atty. Myron C. Cunanan.

   The celebration concluded with a raffle draw and games for the women.
